These are just a few of insights to encourage you
A great attitude does much more than cheer us up. It is like a magnet that seems to magically draw around us a whole range of opportunities that we might never have noticed before we decided to have that great attitude
The best way to a happy life is to develop a profound set of gratitude for the many good things we experience. this attracts more of them
The greatest robber of our job is our inability to be thankful for the many good things, small or large that we actually have now. If we stop to count them, our life is actually brimming with blessings – even in our darkest times
It\'s not what you achieve in life that matters most, it’s what you have to overcome to get there.
When our world goes dark, it is not because the sun has gone out. It has simply gone behind a cloud. And if we keep our heart right in the darkest times, the sun always comes out again and is almost always brighter than it was before.
Failure is never final. Nothing can defeat us without our permission.
True contentment comes from the paradox – the paradox of pursuing a future vision while at the same time being grateful and content with our present

From: Pearl Harbour (Movie)

Although the movie was fiction the historical information was correct. Europe was frustrated that America would not enter the war before Pearl Harbour. However, America in the 1930’s was practising isolationist policy and although Europe and Britain were on its knees, congress would not commit to support them.

Many American pilots frustrated with this wanted to do their bit for the war effort so formed the Eagles Squadron. This Squadron was made up of American pilots who volunteered to fight in the battle of Britain before America became officially involved.

In the movie we see one of the Squadron pilots being questioned by an English colonel. This Colonel had witnessed the horrific casualty rate being experienced by the British pilots so asked the Squadron pilot, “Why are you Americans so anxious to be killed?” to which the pilot replied:

“WE’RE NOT ANXIOUS TO BE KILLED, WE’RE JUST ANXIOUS TO MATTER.”

This is the key question that brings significance in life. It is not materialism (which brings fulfilment through ownership, it’s the sense of fulfilment that comes when we know that WE matter. We matter because we make us matter, we make others matter and we make the world a better place during our time here.
